The main thing to be fixed is the flange-bolts. It will surely solve the leaking toilet problem by tightening the flange bolts. Below are the ways to tighten up the Flange-Bolts
- The plastic caps which cover the blots in the toilet’s base need to be removed
- After removing it, the bolts need to be tightened using a wrench.
- Then now it’s time for flushing the toilet, but if you find the problem still remains, then you will need to replace the Wax-Ring.
- The water on the inlet must be shut off. And it should be placed on the behind toilet’s wall. And then the inlet hose must be disconnected from the tank.
- If there is water inside the tank, remove it by flushing the toilet. If there is water that remains, finish it with sponge/ towels.
- Then we need to get the bowl unscrewed from the bolts.
- Unscrew the flange bolts using wrench.
- The back of the toilet needs to be rocked in order to loosen it from old-waxing/ flange.
- Turn it over by removing the toilet bowl.
- If there any old waxing that still remains, clean it using the putty-knife. And now the new wax ring can be applied.
- Into the flange, the new bolts need to be inserted.
- A plumber’s putty thin bead needs to be applied at the bowl’s bottom.
- Set the back of the toilet back on the flange by turning it back.
- Make a well connection between the floor and the bowl by pressing down the toilet.
- Then it is about time to get the tank attached to the toiled.
- Then the inlet hose is attached.
- Turn on the water, and do the fill and flush to the tank. Check again whether there is still any leak or not.
- Then the base of the toilet needs to be caulked around.
